Four dancers, four musicians, one stage design in ice, glass, steps and platforms – in one universe comprising change, alteration and giddiness. Like a slipstream, it draws the viewer through labyrinthine channels into an area of movement and noise that is secretively sombre and at the same time full of energy. A tissue is deformed, dissolved and, like a silhouette, formed into a new network.

The piece, »Entracte« (»Interval«), is modelled on a unique work of Chinese culture and wisdom: »I Ging«, the »Book of changes«, a multifaceted collection of classical Chinese texts. It consists of 64 hexagrams with the basic idea of constant change. »Entracte« queues 64 events knot by knot like a mesh. The term »interval« refers to a permanent continuation of the course of the world.

Josef Nadj belongs to the most important choreographers of our time. He was born in 1957 in the Hungarian speaking region Vojvodina in the former Yugoslavia, now Serbia. Since 1995 Nadj has been head of the Centre chorégraphique national d’Orléans and gives guest performances with his company worldwide. Akosh Szelevényi, born in Debrecen in 1966, studied music history, singing, clarinet, bassoon and saxophone. Since 2003 he has been working together with Josef Nadj.

»The music-obsessed artists play with the stage design, shade, light and glimmering in a chaotic atmosphere … Standing Ovation!« (Laurène Rouillon, La République du Centre, Orléans, 26.04.2008)
