Metamorphoses of independent theatre in (Eastern) Europe

Thursday, 08. November // 10.00 – ca. 13.30 Uhr / 14.30 – ca.18.00 Uhr
Universität Leipzig / Neuer Senatssaal, Ritterstraße 26

The various theatre systems in Europe are in transition: looking back over the last 20 years, it is clear that new forms of production and organisational structures have changed the content of theatre as much as its reception. Added to this is the increasing networking, digitalisation and acceleration of all work contexts as well as the economic pressure that artists are exposed to.

All of this permanently changes the working and living conditions of performing artists. Perspectives are necessary in order to take this into account. Experts from the arts and academia will analyse theatrical developments in Eastern Europe in rounds of talks, presentations and panel discussions.
