Mit Unterstützung der Balzan-Stiftung, Zürich-Mailand, im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts von Prof. Dr. Manfred Brauneck »Die Rolle der Freien Theater im europäischen Theater der Gegenwart: strukturelle und ästhetische Veränderungen«

Für und mit Künstlern, Wissenschaftlern und Veranstaltern aus dem In- und Ausland,
u.a. mit Gianina Carbunariu (Bukarest, Regisseurin und Autorin), Dr. Vitomira Lončar (Zagreb, Intendantin des Theaters Mala scena), Stefan Schmidtke (Mitglied der künstlerischen Leitung, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus), Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schneider (Geschäftsführender Direktor, Institut für Kulturpolitik, Stiftung Universität Hildesheim)



The various theatre systems in Europe are in transition: looking back over the last 20 years, it is clear that new forms of production and organisational structures have changed the content of theatre as much as its reception. Added to this is the increasing networking, digitalisation and acceleration of all work contexts as well as the economic pressure that artists are exposed to.

All of this permanently changes the working and living conditions of performing artists. Perspectives are necessary in order to take this into account. Experts from the arts and academia will analyse theatrical developments in Eastern Europe in rounds of talks, presentations and panel discussions.
