Pina Bausch, born in 1940 in Solingen, was one of the most important choreographers of the 20th century. Her style influenced successive generations of directors and choreographers and created stage works of international standing. Wim Wenders, born in 1943 in Düsseldorf, planned his film together with Pina Bausch. After her death in the summer of 2009, he decided to create the film as a memorial to her. »Pina« is a dance film and a visual journey of discovery with excerpts from her most important works.
Rainer Behr has performed in the pieces of Pina Bausch at Tanztheater Wuppertal since 1995. His dance piece »Herbstzeitlose« (»Autumn crocus«) can be seen at euro-scene Leipzig. He is also one of the dancers in the film »Pina« and will talk about Pina Bausch, Wim Wenders and the filming.
