Dokumentarfilm von Martin Uhrmeister
ARTE / WDR 2012 / 52 Minuten / deutsche Fassung
Erstausstrahlung auf ARTE: Anfang 2013
Einführung und Gespräch mit Hajo Schüler und Michael Vogel (Familie Flöz) sowie Martin Uhrmeister, Filmautor
Moderation: Michael Steindl, Künstlerischer Leiter Schauspiel, Theater Duisburg
The theatre of Familie Flöz works without language. Only sounds and music support the performance. The self-developed character masks are the essential element. Using acting, masquerade, dance, clowning, magic and improvisation, Familie Flöz develops a poetic theatre that has excited audiences around the globe.
For the ARTE documentary, which will receive its world première at euro-scene Leipzig, Cologne-based filmmaker Martin Uhrmeister turned his camera on the ensemble during their work on the new piece »Garage d’Or«, which itself premiered in Stuttgart in May 2012. The film provides deep insight into the collective creative work process through which the Flöz pieces are born: from the construction of the masks and the development of the characters and costumes to the rehearsals and on to the première of the piece.
