What can, what may, what does theater tell under fire?

How does a child live, how does a teenager develop, how does an adolescent decide in a situation between all fronts? How does one tell one’s own story, experiences of violence and mortal danger in a mined and hate-fueled field without falling into denunciatory clichés or one-sided ideologies? What losses, what coincidences, what opportunities lead people to choose theater in a world under attack? How does all this become a “political comedy” that sets out in search of a turning point of resistance between hostile camps? A discussion with the performer and artistic director of the Freedom Theatre Ahmed Tobasi and students from the Institute of Theatre Studies at Leipzig University.
