How free is (everyone in) dance?
AFTER|THOUGHTS & TALKS about SHIRAZ by Armin Hokmi (Berlin)
Cooperation with the Institute for Theatre Studies at Leipzig University | English and German | Free admission | No registration required
What do an art festival from the 1970s in Iran and a contemporary dance piece of the same name have to do with each other? Under what circumstances can art trigger revolutions and why do revolutions sometimes even restrict artistic freedom? Where do revolutions lead, where does art point to? Who decides on the freedom of art and dance(ing)? Who decides who is allowed to dance and who is not? And how revolutionary – in aesthetical, sensual, political terms – is it if you do it anyway?
We invite you to an exchange about SHIRAZ with the choreographer Armin Hokmi and students from the Institute of Theatre Studies at Leipzig University.
