Social media have become a vast archive of gestures, dances and images of the body. In TRAILER PARK, Moritz Ostruschnjak and the tanzmainz ensemble explore how this digital archive becomes embedded in our perception – and how it shapes our understanding of bodies, community and reality.

Short video clips, viral gestures and online choreographies are transformed into a dance language that is both precise and exhilarating. The nine dancers select the material themselves, appropriate it and develop it into a rapid flow of movement driven by repetition, compression and unexpected ruptures. What appears infinitely reproducible online acquires physical presence and new meaning in the theatre. Appropriation becomes a creative process that transforms virtual source material into an immediate encounter.

Based in Munich, Moritz Ostruschnjak comes from the graffiti and breaking scene and is one of the most distinctive choreographers of his generation. Working with the outstanding, internationally acclaimed tanzmainz ensemble, he combines urban dance forms with conceptual precision and great physical intensity.
