Decision hour: in their new text, DER VORGANG, the French author Catherine Verlaguet tactfully but insistently invites young adults to question their awakening desire and sexuality.

Claire is fifteen. She meets Fabien. He is exactly as old as she is. Together, they experience their first love, their first sexual relationship. That is beautiful. After their first experience, Claire gets pregnant. Unplanned! What is to be done? Speak with Fabien about it? Say nothing to him? Speak with her mother? Stop the pregnancy? Or not? And if not, what then?

Catherine Verlaguet’s sensitive story accompanies Claire during these days when everything is on the line. Between flashbacks of her love story with Fabien, we experience her doubts, her anger, her feelings… A piece for young adults that sincerely and directly approaches the subjects of love and sexuality, society’s expectations on women and their bodies as well as their physical freedom (to decide). It is a decisively committed award-winning piece that seems more relevant than ever.

The French premiere titled LE PROCESSUS was in Lyon, directed by Johanny Bert, in October 2021. He also staged the German-language new production of DER VORGANG with the actress Laura Sophia Becker.
