From 8 to 13 November 2022, a total of 12 productions from Belgium, France, Italy, Congo, Mozambique and Hungary, among others, were brought to the stage. With three world premieres and four German premieres, numerous events from the fields of dance and theatre could be experienced in Germany for the first time this year.

Star choreographer Jan Martens takes the 2019 street protests in Hong Kong as an opportunity to translate the struggle for democracy, freedom and civil rights into a coordinate system of spatial norms and movement patterns.

Three Italian full-blooded mums live from knitting and offering their bodies for sale. They represent a female proletariat that is doubly and triply marginalised. Only one is even worse off: Arturo, the young autistic man who the three women take in and care for.

GROUP50:50, a collective of artists from the Congo, Switzerland and Germany, commemorates the fate of seven "pygmy" skeletons brought to Geneva from the Congo by a Swiss doctor in 1952.

Even today, megalomaniac and unscrupulous European adventurers, industrialists and investors are still trying to take over the habitat and culture of the indigenous peoples living there by force.

The Leipzig-based FORWARD DANCE COMPANY takes a critical and personal look at the iconic ballet Swan Lake, which also stands for an idealised body image, and questions what is considered supposedly "normal" or "beautiful".

UBUNTU CONNECTION is a new battle format on two evenings at euro-scene Leipzig: 16 artists from dance and new circus will compete with and for each other on stage. On the first evening, the participants will introduce themselves with solo performances, followed by a battle session with a live band on the second.

Zum zweiten Mal präsentiert die euro-scene Leipzig in Kooperation mit 4fT Tanzplattform Leipzig an zwei Tagen die Dynamik und Innovationskraft der unabhängigen Tanzszene in Europa. Die Künstler:innen aus vier Ländern zeigen kurze Performances, Pitchings und Präsentationen und gehen anschließend in den Austausch mit dem Publikum.
