12. September 2024
Take part in the free symposium INTERNATIONAL STAGE INCLUSION to improve inclusive cultural work on 8 November.
This year's euro-scene Leipzig offers several inclusive formats, including the INTERNATIONALE BÜHNE INKLUSION (INTERNATIONAL STAGE INCLUSION) symposium.
Inclusive cultural work is essential in order to create an equitable cultural landscape – and it benefits everyone involved. It sensitises people to existing social barriers and helps to break them down. And it opens up new perspectives for artistic productions and collaborations at local, national and international level.
But what can inclusive cultural practice look like? How can we improve access to local and national cultural scenes for artists with disabilities? How can inclusive cultural work be organised in an international context and what synergies arise from cross-border artistic exchange? These questions are the focus of the INTERNATIONALE BÜHNE INKLUSION (INTERNATIONAL STAGE INCLUSION) symposium, to which the NO LIMITS – Disability & Performing Arts Festival Berlin (13 - 24 November 2024) and the Goethe-Institut, in cooperation with euro-scene Leipzig and Theater der Jungen Welt are inviting artists and cultural professionals.
With impulses from Theater Thikwa, Insolite Fabriq, Goethe-Institut Lyon, Festival NO LIMITS, Kulturstiftung des Bundes, Schauspiel Leipzig and Theater der Jungen Welt, among others. Afterwards, there will be an exchange on the topics of international mobility, disabled leadership, opening processes for inclusion at institutions and festivals.
